Foil Boards
A foil board is smaller than a standard paddleboard. It must be highly manoeuvrable to allow for quick and precise movements.
Foiling is the new way to SUP. In addition to a foil paddleboard, you also need a foil. You can also use a foil board in combination with a foil wing.
What You Need for Foiling:
- Foil Board
- Optional: Foil Wing
Foiling Styles
There are different styles of foiling, with SUP and wing foiling currently being the most popular. Below, we have listed the main types of foiling:
- Surf foiling (prone): This is essentially wave surfing, where you generate a small wave yourself by building speed. The aim is to lift yourself above the water.
- SUP foiling: By paddling hard and using the correct technique, you generate enough lift to raise the board.
- Wing foiling: Using a wing, you generate speed to lift the foil out of the water.
- Windsurf foiling: By harnessing the power of a windsurf sail, you gain enough speed to lift the foil.
